In science this week we have been investigating pollen! We first ventured outside to observe plants closely to see if anything has been nibbling at them and to locate where the pollen may be in flowers.

After, we used clay to make a model of what pollen looks like under a microscope!

This term in science our topic is plants! Today we have planted carrots and beans. We will be keeping a bean diary and we will be updating it each week. We all had lots of fun this morning planting!

THE BEST DAY EVER!

Science Investigation 18.11.20

Today in science we completed an umbrella investigation testing different materials to decide which material would be best to make an umbrella from. We had lots of fun using pipettes and working as part of a group. We decided that recycled plastic would be the best material to make an umbrella from.

This week is Magpies we are continuing to study our book this term called 'Rapunzel' by Bethan Woollvin. One of our tasks this week was to create a freeze frame of Rapunzel's face when she leaves the tower for the first time.

In maths this week, Year one are looking at ordinal numbers. For our maths lesson, we went outside and played games and raced each other to practice using ordinal numbers. We had lots of fun learning about ordinal numbers outside!
