  The first Celebration Assembly of the year is always exciting, and we had lots to celebrate today.

  An amazing final Celebration Assembly with the usual certificates. However, we also had the athletic team who came 3rd in the district sports, and the Year 6s who won the rounders match against the parents.

  Armstrong House won the House Points for the year and celebrated like they were the happiest people on the planet.

  Eagles won the Attendance Award for the term.

  Eagles won the SpellingShed award and Kingfishers the TT Rockstars trophy.

  Lots of celebrating today, especially for the Kingfishers and Eagles production performance.

  Eagles won the SpellingShed battle, whilst Kingfishers won TT Rockstars.

  Woodpeckers won the Attendance award this week.

  Lots of great work and manners being rewarded today.

  Kingfishers won both the SpellingShed and TT Rockstars battles this week, but Woodpeckers were so close in the SpellingShed.

  We also said goodbye to Miss Thrower who has finished her teaching practice, and we wish her luck as she starts her career.

  The children arrived happily this afternoon and have already enjoyed fencing, caving, climbing and more, before a good dinner. The wifi connection is not good currently but they are hoping to add photos to the Eagles Class page when they can.

  Lots of beautifully dressed people ready for our Jubilee tea party in assembly today. They were there to witness lots of celebrating of great work and manners.

• Ashford Netball Tournament

  Sat 14 May 2022

  Smeeth sent two teams to the Ashford Small Schools Netball Tournament with great results.

  The Apples team consisted of some players representing the school for the first time, and they came an impressive 5th. They held their nerve to win their playoff match 2-0 against Brook, after gaining an excellent draw against Chilean which enabled our Bananas team to reach the final. Their goals in the tournament were scored by Esme, Lily Bu., Oliver and Daniel.

  The Bananas team performed brilliantly all morning, winning eight of their league matches and reaching the playoff final where they took the lead against the only undefeated team in the tournament. Unfortunately, in a closely fought match they finished second. Their goals in the tournament were scored by: Sasha, Lily Ba., Milo, Isla, Arthur, Adam and Ellie - the entire squad scoring during the tournament.

  Lots of Times Tables Certificates today, which is great.

  The House Point battle for second place is heating up.

  Eagles won the SpellingShed battle, whilst Kingfishers won TT Rockstars.
