• Pantomime at the Marlowe Theatre Canterbury – 2 nd December 2026

  Wed 02 Dec 2026

We are very excited to announce our traditional Smeeth Pantomime excursion to see ‘The All-New Adventures of Peter Pan ‘on Wednesday, 2nd December 2026 at The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. We will leave school at 10.45am and return by 5.00pm. The children will travel by coach and our wonderful PFS is subsidising the cost of the coaches - we are very grateful to them!. Please make payment via Parent Mail. We ask that all payments are received by Monday, 2 nd November 2026. If the cost of your child participating in the pantomime visit should prove a problem, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will all need a packed lunch that day! If you would like your child to have a school packed lunch, please ensure you book as usual and let us know by Monday, 2nd November 2026. This will allow the kitchen to plan accordingly. The Pantomime at The Marlowe is always a fabulous opportunity for our children to experience live theatre and they absolutely love it. If you have any questions, please do see us as always, and we will try and help as much as we can.

• Muslim Visitors

Mon 13 Nov 2023 Emma Willmore

On Monday 13th November, Smeeth pupils welcomed some visitors from Canterbury mosque. They came to talk to the children about Islam.

The morning began with a whole school assembly where the children were able to ask questions about Islam and share the extensive knowledge that they already have.

Then the visitors spent some time in Robins class to talk about the Qur'an in the context of their learning about a range of religious 'Special Books'.

They visited Kingfishers class to talk about 'Islamic Relief' in the context of how religions respond to suffering around the world and finished off in Eagles class to talk about the Five Pillars of Islam, and look at Islamic artefacts.

It was a very exciting and interesting morning - learning was brought to life!
