History

23rd January 2023

We are learning about different nurses this term and who has made a significant impact in nursing history! So far we have learnt about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and the role they played in the Crimean War. Today we explored Edith Cavell and her role in World War One. We did some role-play for our activity and had a go at acting out different scenarios in partners and in groups. For example, we took turns playing Edith Cavell and having a go at bandaging our partners up who were the soldiers. We also pretended to hide the allied German soldiers as this is something Edith did too!

We are exploring robots this term! Today we discussed what a robot is, what they do and why they do it. We also talked about what a command is. Then we had a go at giving our bee-bot floor robots a command and watching them do it.
